Focus on Giving Back

Extending Our Focus

When we envisioned the character of SGES, we wanted this executive search boutique to be different from others, and, from its earlier version (launched in 2001).

The individuals' need for specific advice on their career decisions, drove the need to develop an additional service: professional career coaching. The logo and tagline therefore had to expand to encompass a wider audience.

The thread that pulls the business together is helping others professionally, organizationally and individually.

However, we wanted to help further. Particularly, we wanted to give back to a local community whose members are not in a position to benefit from what we traditionally offer our clients. And as a business that relies on insight and vision, in addition to a brand that has reflected Susan's passion for collecting eyeware, we felt a strong pull to support the vision impaired.

We were introduced to a special 501-C3 non-profit organization, Lighthouse International, operating out of an office in New York City. For more than 107 years, Lighthouse International has been a beacon of hope, help and resources for people who are blind or visually impaired. The two founders, sisters Edith and Winifred Holt, blazed a trail of firsts and opened up new doors of opportunity for people without sight. Today, the Lighthouse helps people of all ages overcome the challenges of vision loss through prevention, treatment and empowerment.

Lighthouse offers a range of services and programs, as well as research, professional education and advocacy, aimed at improving quality of life for people of low vision and blindness in New York and around the country. Through its information and resource call center, outreach and awareness efforts, the Lighthouse strives to spread the word to educate the public about the importance of regular vision care, the risk factors associated with vision loss, and where to turn for help.

Our Special Commitment

Susan Goldberg Executive Search Consulting has made a special commitment to Lighthouse International.

A portion of every fee we receive through executive search and career coaching is donated to the charity with the hope that it can further build its programs, reach a greater number of people, inspire these people, and bring optimism and an encouraging presence to a worthy group.

We are certain that, like us, you will be inspired by its purpose and the great work it is doing, and has already done.
